Amy Lou Adams, full name Amy Lou Adams (born 20 August 1974 in Aviano Italy), American actress. Amy Lou Adams is famous for portraying naive characters that have a charming appeal and are loved by critics. Adams was the daughter of an U.S. Army officer in Italy and was raised in Castle Rock Colorado. The mid-1990s saw her begin singing and dancing professionally at the Boulder Dinner Theatre in Colorado and Country Dinner Playhouse. Following her move to Minnesota, she took part in a film mock-documentary about beauty pageants titled Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998). The film was a success and she became a screen star as a charming but ditzy contestant she moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Between June 1951 and September of 1962, she was tied to the actor Tony Curtis. She is also the mother of Kelly Curtis & Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh was spotted by actress Norma Shearer and was offered a contract for MGM during the 1940s. She appeared in several popular film productions over the course of the decade such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) and Living It Up (a Martin and Lewis film from 1954).
